Europe Currency: History and Trends You Should Know
Europe Currency: History and Trends You Should Know The inception of having a common currency for all the European countries happened in the Treaty of Maastricht, 1992. Finally, after a lot of contemplation and several talks, the Euro was launched on 1st of January, 1999. But Euro in cash did not arrive and circulate in the market until 1st January, 2002. And after this day, the Belgian franc and the Deutsche Mark did not exist anymore. The first countries to adopt the Euro as their formal currency were Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Finland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Ireland, France, and The Netherlands. Over the course of many years, it was accepted by the European Union which resulted in the replacement of currencies of several of its members. As of now, 19 out of the 28 member states of the European Union that also includes islands, territories, and overseas departments make use of the Euro as their legal currency for transactions and payments. Represented as €, the involvement of Euro as a currency has been of significance specially to develop political solidarity and stability amongst European countries. The Euro rate The Euro is one of the heavily exchanged or traded currencies in the forex market. The Euro foreign exchange reference rate is updated at 16:00 CET (Central European Time) on every working day. The rate is based on a daily concertation that takes place between all European banks at 14:15 CET. When it comes to forex, it is important to pay emphasis to the trade relations between India and the EU (European Union). Ahead of China and the USA, the EU has been the largest trading partner and contributor to India’s overall trade scene in the last few years. Thus, the Euro currency rate is of utmost importance to several Indians, especially the ones who do direct business with some of the EU members. Some of the other factors that have strengthened the dependency on EURO/INR rate includes personal travel, education, immigration, employment, and medical treatments. So, if you are planning to buy/sell Euros, be it for any reason, you can either opt for a reputed bank in your area that specializes in buying and selling of forex or choose to register with an online money changer like BookMyForex. “Euro rate today” is a myth People who are frequently involved in the exchanging of the Euro currency have often found themselves searching for terms like “Euro rate today” or “Today’s Euro exchange rate”. [Biweekly Geopolitics Thread] Iran marks anniversary of Revolution, Venezuela blockades highway, and 'Miss Curvy Uganda'
Welcome to the Biweekly Geopolitics Thread, where you can discuss all the interesting things that have happened across the world. Did your favourite singer win a Grammy? Did your favourite sport just have a major event? Is Kim Jong-Un still around? Discussion topics do not have to be related to India - yes, we too can comment on countries that we barely know anything about! Here are a few items to get the conversation started:
Top stories from India's neighbourhood:
1. Pak close to securing IMF deal Despite money from allies Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and possibly also from China, Pakistan is still going to the IMF for a bailout package that, as PM Khan said, will include some tough reform measures. Pak is asking for a loan as forex reserves stand at $8 billion (less than 2 months of imports) and growth is slowing. Bond rating companies have further downgraded Pakistani bonds on fears that the country will be unable to repay its massive debt. In addition, local banks that deal heavily in government debt have also been recently downgraded, making it harder for them to get credit from the international market. 2. Iran marks 40th anniversary of Islamic Revolution In 1979, Ayatollah Khomeini led a revolution in Iran that toppled the Western-backed Shah's regime and established the Islamic Republic. Iran marked the 40th anniversary of that event with a series of events, including a national speech by the President Rouhani, whose authority is subordinate to that of the Ayatollah, where he vowed to build Iran's military capabilities in the face of a American opposition and sanctions that have crippled the economy. The head of the elite Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (which is a US-designated terrorist organization) also vowed to continue Iran's military interventions across the region, saying "We will help any Muslim anywhere in the world." 3. Thai princess barred from contesting upcoming elections In a surprising turn of events last week, the sister of the Thai king, Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi, filed her papers to content in the upcoming national elections, the first to be held since a military coup ousted the previous civilian administration in 2014. And to make matters worse, she filed her nomination with the Thai Raksa Chart party, which supports the former ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Now, the country's election commission has rejected her nomination, ostensibly to keep the royal family above politics. What's more, the party could face a ban for breaking a law that requires politicians to avoid using the monarchy for political issues. A ban on the party could give more power to the military-backed government that is looking to win the election. The military already nominates one-third of legislators as per a new Constitution.
Top stories from the world:
1. Russia plans new missiles after both sides withdraw from INF Treaty After the US pulled out of the Cold War-era Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty, Russia did the same and has now vowed to developed new intermediate-range nuclear missiles (500-5,500 km range). The treaty was originally signed to prevent nuclear annihilation of Europe by Soviet nuclear weapons, but the US has accused Russia of violating the treaty in the last few years. However, many commentators believe that the real reason the US withdrew from the treaty is so that it could develop new missiles to target China's eastern seaboard from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Guam. China is not part of the treaty and already has intermediate-range nuclear missiles, and the Trump administration has previously said that it would want a new treaty to include China. 2. Venezuela's military blocks road to prevent aid from entering country Venezuela plunged deeper into crisis as the military, which officially backs President Maduro, blocked a major bridge into neighbouring Colombia to prevent a shipment of aid from entering the country. He was condemned by opposition leader and presidential claimant, Juan Guaido, who wants to use the aid to undermine Maduro and force him to leave office. Most neighbouring countries, European countries, and the US recognize Guaido as the interim president pending free elections. Maduro, on his part, claims that there is no humanitarian crisis in the country and that the aid is akin to a US military invasion. "We are not beggars," Maduro said. 3. 'Miss Curvy Uganda' sparks outrage Like every country, Uganda wants to promote tourism. However, a private initiative backed by the country's tourism minister has sparked an outrage. 'Miss Curvy Uganda' is a planned beauty pageant for "plus sized women" to encourage tourists to come and see Uganda's beautiful women. This is part of the tourism ministry's plan to add 'curvy and sexy women' to official literature as one of the many attractions in the country. However, women's right activists and the country's ethics minister have condemned it, stating that it objectifies women and normalized sexual violence. Calls for cancelling the event and firing the tourism minister continue to grow.
Geopolitical History: The Suez Crisis
(A new feature to educate the sub on critical people and events that shaped history) In 1956, Egyptian President Nasser (one of the co-founders of the Non-Aligned Movement along with Nehru, Tito, and Sukarno) nationalized the Suez Canal, setting off a crisis with France and Britain that wanted to retain control over it, as well as Israel, which Egypt was blockading since it was founded. In October 1956, Israel, France, and Britain invaded Egypt. Aside from ensuring continuing shipments of oil, the British had an additional reason to fight: to continue to have speedy access to its colonies East of Suez, even though its largest and most important colony there (India) had achieved independence. The French blamed Nasser's Arab nationalism for stoking an independence movement in Algeria, while Israel wanted to strengthen its position on its southern border and gain shipping access via the Straits of Tiran in the Red Sea. The invasion was a quick military victory for the British, French, and Israeli forces, but not before Egyptian forces damaged the canal and prevented its further use. However, it was a diplomatic disaster for those countries. US President Eisenhower condemned the attack on the grounds that he could not condemn the ongoing Soviet invasion of Hungary while being seen to accept the invasion of Egypt. He also threatened to sell millions of pounds of British bonds to undermine their economy. The Soviet Union also condemned the invasion as it was trying to gain favour of the Muslim world (indeed, hundreds of thousands protested against the invasion in Lahore). At the UN, the General Assembly passed a resolution against the invasion and established the UN Emergency Force (UNEF) to bring a stop to the fighting, the first peacekeeping force established by the UN. Saudi Arabia also started an oil embargo against Britain and France (it never traded with Israel anyway). In the end, Egypt won the war, with the UN, US, and USSR recognizing its sovereignty over the Suez Canal. Israel gained marginally as it restored trade through the Straits of Tiran, which Egypt had closed since 1950; it also saw a period of peace with Egypt as the UN force stopped fighting in the Sinai. For Britain (and to a lesser extent France), it marked the end of its global empire as it was humiliated and forced to withdraw. In subsequent years, all remaining large colonies East of Suez gained independence. Canada's Secretary for External Affairs Lester Pearson, who went on to become its Prime Minister, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1957 for spearheading UNEF and thus creating the modern concept of a peacekeeping force. The Suez Crisis also shaped Indian foreign policy, and was marked as a success of the Non-Aligned Movement in opposing imperialism while also protecting India's economic interests (India was one of the top users of the Suez Canal). Indian representatives participated in negotiations on the crisis (including representing Egypt at a peace conference that the country had officially boycotted) and Indian troops participated in the UNEF force, our first such participation as a sovereign republic in a foreign military crisis. Someone who is using more than 10% of the whole equity into a trading session is probably not having a good money management strategy. Because you should always trade safe and also because the market may turn back on you and you would find yourself in a big margin problem. With good risk management, having 10% of your account invested can bring consistent returns with no problems.
Profit Rate :
Some traders can’t make 10% per year. Others can safely and consistently make 30% per month and they are not afraid to show their verified performance as a solid proof of what they offer. While taking into consideration a proper risk and money management, you should never aim to make millions in one week with a small account because that would probably mean hitting margin call. Just remember: a good strategy and analysis will always bring profits. And if at the end of the month you have only 1% profit, that means you don’t have -1% loss.

Why Trade Forex?
The Forex market is fast becoming the most attractive and popular market in the world. The traditional stock is no longer relevant and traders are moving fast into the Forex. We collected here a few reasons to show you why this is happening and what advantages the Forex market has to make is so popular. We choose to focus on a few very important advantages of the Forex trading and the reasons that people choose this market: forex is the largest financial market in the world. The daily volume of the Forex market is huge over $3 trillion per day. This makes the stability of the market very good compared to stock trading. The price in the Forex market is exactly what you see is what you get and you can follow it very easily. Forex trading simplifies everything, there’s no clearing fees, no exchange fees, no government fees, no brokerage fees, no middlemen. The elimination of the middlemen gets the traders closer to the actual trade and makes the traders responsible for their pricing. The brokers are usually paid through a service called “bid-ask spread”. The Forex market is open 24 hours a day. Opening on Monday morning (in Australia) and closing in the afternoon (in New York). This is great for traders that can trade all day long or in parts. You can choose the times that are convenient for your trading, day-night, when you eat or when you sleep, whenever you want. In Forex trading you can minimize the risk by depositing a small amount that will control a larger contract value. This is controlled by leverage and can make you profitable in the Forex market. If a broker gives 50 to 1 leverage it means that with $50 deposit you can buy or sell with $2500. If you put $500, you can trade with $25,000. All this needs to be done with great risk management because high leverage can easily lead to great loss, as well as great profit. The Forex market is huge and therefore also very liquid. This means that on every buys or sell that you make, there will be someone who will take the other side of the trade. You will never be grounded because there’s no one on the other side. To get started you would think that you need a lot of money. The reality is that online Forex brokers have “mini” and “micro” options and some of them have a minimum of only $25. This is great for Forex beginners because it makes the trading starting point easier. I’m not saying that you need to start with the minimum, but being cautious is never bad and starting small is good for the average trader. main trading company

This gives the traders a huge advantage in controlling their trades much better than the disorder.

Why forex markets is better than domestic markets”
Many a person wonders why organizations, companies or even countries prefer to trade in the foreign exchange markets rather than its own domestic market. To understand this choice of trading and its reasoning better, let’s start with a simple description of both the domestic as well as the foreign exchange markets. Domestic market is an internal market of a single country wherein trading is based on the demand and supply of goods, services and securities of that country. Foreign exchange markets, commonly termed as “Forex markets” allow an entity to trade in other countries utilizing the currencies of the countries. Imagine an American tourist traveling to India, he or she will have to pay for the food in a local stall in Indian rupees not in US dollars, for which the tourist must convert US dollars to Indian rupees for the services rendered in India. If this was not possible, would the tourist be able to travel to India! This is a simple example of currency conversion. Companies, organizations, even countries trade in currencies to meet their requirements, making forex markets the largest financial market in the world. The entities gain based on the movement of prices either upward or downward. In cases, when buying takes places, and the prices are moving upward, profits are made. This is termed as go LONG. In cases, when selling is taking place and the price is moving downwards, profits are made again. This is termed as go SHORT. Domestic market is confined to a particular country, thus limiting the chances of investment. It has a limited market size. Forex market allows investments in other countries, bringing in expansions, exposure to other work cultures, increase in the market reach, and thus inevitably brings internal growth. The Forex market is also flexible in the size of the deals, based on the capability and capacity of the trader. It could be standard, mini or even micro making it a comfortable form of trading even for a small trader. Another important aspect is that a trader only needs to lock 0.2% of his trading volume at any point of time for margins With 1:500 leverage. This locked trading volume is termed as the good faith deposit and it is on a temporary basis. In trading with a standard lot volume of say $100,000 the actual locked amount is only $200 (0.2% of $100,000) One of most significant aspect of the Forex market is that an individual can directly trade online without the requirement of middleman. Usually no trading fee or commission is collected when trading is done online. The brokers take advantage of the spread i.e. the bid price or the ask price, the traders buying or selling prices to or from the brokerage thus earning their compensations. Demo Accounts can always be created for practice before venturing into the real trading world. The Forex market works continuously, even if the market is closed in one part of the globe, it is working in the other part. It utilizes the time difference between countries to ensure, that trading happens 24 X 5 .The only exceptions would be weekends, making it possible to trade anytime anywhere. The Forex market is completely decentralized; there is no “one office” or “one location” thus helping in increasing the work power, improving the work culture, improving the skill set in each country to standardize to a global level. It also helps in amalgamating individual trends, cultures, predictions of each country into a large overall view of all the countries in the world. The Forex markets help countries in taking immediate steps to mitigate financial issues by utilizing the help offered by other countries or agencies either through purchase or credit. The domestic market has the disadvantage of limited resources, while the forex market gives the advantage of utilizing the resources of the entire world, of course based on the purchasing power as well as the credit capacity of the entity. It is the most liquid market. In this era, communication is a strength, which the forex market utilizes, all decision can be taken over the counter electronically, and it removes the limitations set by culture and language. Easy communications, decisions and overall improvements in inter relations between countries is a byproduct of this kind of marketing. What makes forex market important and much better than the domestic market is its ability to adapt, absorb and evolve keeping the whole world in view, as a single entity with unlimited opportunities for improvements, growth, expansions and thus create one large global family!
