Crypto trading tips for newbies

Crypto trading tips for newbies
Profitable crypto trading begins with an understanding of traded assets. It is difficult to make money on an asset if you do not know its basic properties. Cryptocurrencies differ from traditional assets in high volatility, and this feature is key in crypto trading.
A newbie should choose cryptocurrencies with medium volatility. Low volatility, i.e. weak leaps and dips, is disadvantageous. But too high also rarely brings profit to novice traders, because it is associated with high unpredictability. Average volatility allows you to make a profit and at the same time has low risks, even for beginners.

Each cryptocurrency has its inherent features, such as reaction to cryptocurrency market news, following the course of another cryptocurrency, and so on. These features often become the basis or at least one of the elements of a trading strategy. They also indicate the profitability or disadvantage of the asset for the trader. For example, following the course of another cryptocurrency is a profitable feature, since it makes it easy to predict rate changes. But frequent flat periods are an unprofitable feature for a beginner since at this time it is easy to make a mistake.
It is impossible to take into account all the features of all cryptocurrencies right away. Successful trading begins with:
  • Studying their main characteristics, which will later become the basis of a trading strategy.
  • Beginners are encouraged to start with popular cryptocurrencies. Their movement is easier to study, analyze and predict than the features of the movement of the course of little-known assets, due to the fact that:
    • There is more information about known currencies - from the information provided by the developers to the news.
    • Well-known cryptocurrencies are more likely to trade, more often discussed at crypto-forums and other resources, and it makes sense for a beginner to study such discussions before making his own conclusions.

We are aware of the situation that many people are unfamiliar with cryptocurrency trading and probably had a bad experience with it, especially after January 2018. Most people do not know how, where or when to buy a crypto asset.
This is where our Newscrypto platform comes in. In our opinion, Newscrypto is the most advanced project to date as we aspire to give our users the Edge in comparison to other traders by providing them with all the knowledge needed to start or improve their trading career.

Newscrypto.io is designed to give you all the needed information and tools in one place. We educate our members about the financial world of crypto assets with our trading tools, advanced indicators, community prediction section and our own school program. The main focus of the Newscrypto platform is to solve the problem of finding the right information at the right time and guide people from blindly investing in making rational investment decisions.

Would you be willing to teach newbies to trade crypto and get paid for it? Or learn trading without risking your capital?

The platform will allow experienced traders to share their trades with their followers and patrons. Along side each trade experienced trader will add explanation about the trade.
Newbies will be able to use play USD to perform trade actions and try different tactics to learn trading before entering real market and learn more about crypto in the process.
Users will use Play Bitcoin (or Ethereum etc etc) to perform trade actions, once user is ready platform will help them to transition into real exchanges, give security advice etc. So people would avoid common mistakes that can lead to big losses when dealing with BTC or other cryptos.
You can find out more about the project here: https://niffler.co

Top crypto trading commandments for newbies

Invest only what you can afford to lose.
The crypto game is very volatile and can be risky. Remember that you are always at risk of losing money due to some speculation on the markets. Do not take loans to invest etc - invest money only if you can get over a potential loss. Otherwise, it will create an emotional bond to your investments, which is always bad for you, because you will make very poor decisions.
Decide whether you want to accumulate value in Dollars or Bitcoin.
Dollar value and Bitcoin value are two completely different things. If you are a day tradeshort term trader, then you should stick to BTC value all the time. However, if you plan to invest mid-long term, then accumulating in USD is perfectly fine.
Do not invest in projects you don’t know/don’t believe in.
Just because your friend told you that there’s a real crypto gem doesn’t mean it’s true. DYOR (Do Your Own Research) is always the way to go.
Create your own strategy and have a goal.
You need to roughly estimate what profits you assume would be right for you. Set your goal (for example 3x profits) and then move to another coin with your newly accumulated gains. It applies to day trading/short term trading mostly. If you are a long term trader, sell some portion of your coin after reaching your target (like 50%) and hold the rest for longer.
Diversify your portfolio
Do not keep all eggs in one basket. Diversification is the key for your success as it is a very stable ground for gains and losses. Keeping from 5 to 10 coins is the best option. Some of your coins should really be Bitcoin and/or Ethereum as they are the basic ones right now.
Do not store your coins in exchanges if possible.
Remember Mt. Gox? One day, 85 000 BTC were stolen one day as the exchange got hacked. Always download specific wallets for your coins or store them in hardware wallets (Trezor, Ledger Nano S, Keepkey). Obviously, if you are a day trader, this applies to you less as you will need those coins to circulate.
Do not sell coins at a loss
Lack of research and lack of faith in your portfolio can create some panic when coins are going down. Do not ever fall for that unless you are a day trader. Day traders have to do that from time to time by using Stop-Loss feature, but if you’re for some mid-long term profits, never do it. Markets are volatile and you can lose even 40-60% of your portfolio value one day but this will be recovered soon (even the next day). Also, some sophisticated FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) maneuvers are sometimes created by whales just to flush out weak hands. Do not fall for that. Remember: you usually lose money if you sell at a loss.
Do not buy on green candles.
Do not succumb to FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). At the time FOMO is starting, you should already have those coins in your portfolio. This is how you will make most gains. Newbies always tend to buy at peaks when they see something is increasing (FOMO), and selling immediately when it is falling (FUD). This is what whales feed upon, this is how weak hands are destroyed by them.
Buy low, sell high
Very obvious but easier said than done. But there is one smart rule set by Warren Buffett: ““Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful”. When your markets are in red, treat it as a mall sellout and BUY. When markets are just too bullish and all in green, SELL.
Keep your eye on Bitcoin. Always.
Why would you do that? First of all, because you should stick to Satoshi value. Second, Bitcoin affects Altcoins. If Bitcoin goes on a crazy bull run, altcoins take a beating (people selling alts to buy BTC and BTC value is also changing). When Bitcoin drops rapidly, alts also get slaughtered (people are FUDing and sell all, including alts). However, when BTC is consolidating, altcoins usually grow significantly in value. So, NEVER panic sell. Just wait and HODL. However, you should watch the markets to observe some new patterns as the situation is volatile and sometimes growing Bitcoin can drag altcoins with it as well.
Do not be impatient and do not be too greedy.
Newcomers to crypto trading are too impatient to wait 1-2 years to accumulate fruit of their labour. They want to become rich in 1-2 months. Therefore, they panic sell when their coins are down or invest too much in one coin. Always diversify and invest smaller amounts to hedge yourself against losses. Also, do not contemplate on your missed opportunities - there will be new ones ahead soon!
Always take supply and volume into consideration.
If the coin price is low (a few satoshis/cents), it doesn’t mean it’s a good opportunity to invest. Always look at the supply juxtaposed with the price. The market cap = supply x coin price. It is usually easier for a coin with low market cap (for example 300 mln) and higher price (for example 300 USD) to go 10x, than to reach the same profits for a coin that costs 0.1 USD but it’s market cap is already 10 bln USD. Mind you, coins with small volume can spring a trap on you. Always use exchanges and coins with relatively bigger volumes or you will be holding bags in no time. However, if people are under FOMO and crypto goes mainstream, this situation can change as many newbies WILL buy coins with smaller prices (below 1 USD) thinking it’s a good deal, completely ignoring market cap. They are newbies after all, aren’t they?
Technical analysis is good but it’s not the oracle.
Technical Analysis is very helpful in day trading but it won’t help when some news are coming (bad or good). The prices will not stick to your TA when something big is in the air. Always check social media of the projects, follow the devs, read the roadmaps. Stay frosty all the time!
Principles for a good project:
DYOR and looks for answers to those questions: What is the problem this project is trying to solve? Is there even a token required for this project? What can the token be used for? Is the roadmap plausible? Is the team good? Does this project have already a working product? Is there any other similar project around? Is this just a money-grab attempt or this project really can change life for the better?
Always take care of your security
Write down your passwords, seeds to your wallets in different places and keep them safe. The same goes to your private keys - if you don’t own them, you don’t own the coins. Keep your coins in paper wallets, hardware wallets. Always use 2FA everywhere.
